Assignment #5 was released. It is due on December 13th. No late submissions will be accepted.

Assignment #4 deadline now Dec 6th (no late submissions allowed)

As mentioned in class, the deadline for assignment #4 is extended. It is now due at midnight, Wednesday, December 6th. However, no submissions will be allowed after that.

Assignment #3 deadline extended by one day

The deadline for assignment #3 is extended by one day and it is now due on midnight, Wednesday, November 15th.

The second assignment (on recommender systems) has been posted. It is due on October 23rd.

Assignment #1 due date extended by 2 days

The due date for Assignment #1 has been pushed back by two days. New due date is Wednesday, Sep 27th, before midnight (for full points). Late submission policy applies per the syllabus.

The web site for the Fall 2017 semester is now live at http://cs1656.org. A notable change from prior years is the use of the TopHat system. We will use TopHat for

• collecting student responses for in-class activities, and
• sharing slides and other lecture/recitation/assignment material.
